Hedgelaying season is just coming to an end - we lay hedges around the estate to prolong the life of the trees and create habitat for many birds, insects and small mammals. We will soon be making a bird hide that people can use to watch the wildlife go by, and putting up more barn owl and bat boxes. Last year we looked at the state of the ponds across the whole estate and will start work this year on improving them to encourage species diversity.
